The worst I've had is the key not working in a hotel complex where my room was a goodly distance from the front desk, on a day when I was so tired from driving across country that the prospect of walking back to the front desk WITH my bags was petrifying. I got out my cell phone and called the front desk via the hotel's outside line. Someone brought a reprogrammed key to me.
But I totally understand the anxiety about the computer and sole copies of creative work! Definitely a matter of major concern!
