I was happy to see at the end things are going better for you! I definitely believe that positive thinking is an essential ingredient, but it’s also important to remember it isn’t magic. I look at it this way-- positive thinking can’t fix everything, but negative thinking always works against you.
The two studio photos perfectly describe your career arc. I think your generosity and hard-won wisdom in talking about artists, the business of art and how we often get in the way of ourselves is your other great achievement.
I felt like I was on a roller coaster while reading your text, ups and downs, I'm trying to learn how to feel motivated, feel more confident in doing what is necessary to achieve my goals, it's comforting and encouraging to see how even such incredible people how you had to deal with so many negative things, wish you never had to deal with this, of course, thank you for sharing your memories and learnings with us, I just admire you, and how you managed to deal with so many problems, I am very happy that things have improved now.
It's a bit like a lottery ticket, isn't it? You're not likely to win anything substantial if you buy one. But you definitely won't win anything if you don't.
Not exactly. Winning with a lottery is not as active as getting results out of self help programs. If you buy a lottery ticket, you win or you don't. If you read a self help book, nothing happens unless you act on what you've read. So, it's not the same. Self help programs can actually be a lot of work. And if you follow through and get results, yay for you. But some people are going to follow through and get no results. It's more like going to college and studying to be a lawyer. Well, you paid all that money, you took the courses, but then you don't pass the bar. And you fail over and over. No matter how hard you worked or how much you invested, you don't get to be a lawyer. No one should go into a self help program expecting a miracle, any more than you should go to therapy expecting a definitive cure. Self help programs worked great for me. Loved it. But I worked really hard, and I was the type of person who could benefit from the program. That program just won't work for everyone.

I always enjoy seeing studios and workspaces. Thanks, Colleen.
This was fascinating and insightful. Thank you.
Great insight and self-realization -- thanks for sharing!
