100% agree. I have timers on mine. I have a teeny, tiny following. I don't post on Twitter, and rarely bother much with Facebook or Instagram. They get 5 minutes each. Mostly for sharing other artists and authors work to Instagram stories. Bluesky gets 10 minutes, and I use buffer to schedule the next week's posts one afternoon a week (but that afternoon got hijacked this week, so there'll be no posts til next week, and literally no-one will care 😂 it honestly doesn't matter!) I'm recycling old Instagram posts on Bluesky, as it's a new platform and I have different people following me there.
I also have a giant screen time widget on the main screen of my phone, to horrify me into putting the phone down, and little alerts that pop up on the screen, so if I'm whatsapping too much it pops up 'used for 15 minutes' etc.
Speaking of timers, this was supposed to go up this weekend, but I hit the wrong button, Hi Ho.
I resonate with a lot of this. Social is like junk food -- tempting, but you feel bad when you're done.
This was a great read!
Thank you!
I still miss ComicSpace!!
Brilliant!

Slowly whittling the screen time down!
