I’ve done some official Lord of the Rings art for licensed products, and various commissions, and a few legally licensed prints, and I am struggling with my new essay, so this time you get art.
“Gimli’s Gift”. For an officially licensed LOTR convention. Watercolor over pencil.
A handful of LOTR trading cards. Colored pencil.
Actor Craig Parker as Haldir. Did this portrait on a plane on the way to a show. The pencil original was sold off for charity, and I later colored it in Photoshop from a photocopy.
Elladin and Elrohir, the twin sons of Elrond. Pencil. LOTR fans will argue over whether or not elf horses should have tack, but I’m of the opion if you’re out on errantry, you’re going to need some tack to handle supplies. You know, lembas and stuff. Also, pretty tack.
Arwen and Aragorn. A private commission in pencil.
Maeglin and Idril. Personal work. Pencil.
King Thranduil.
Radagast the Brown.
The Death of Glorfindel. Pencil.
“Legends of the Quendi”. Pen and ink with colored inks and 24 K gold.
What a feast for the eyes.
What a glorious collection of art! Thank you for sharing them with us.
