In the most recent Good Omens update at the Kickstarter, a few people got upset at the suggestion that you have to get past my paywall here to see Good Omens updates.
I love how pasty Hastur and Ligur are, like cave critters that never come up for sunlight. And while Crowley's sorta the same with that alabaster look, he's also less off-putting. You can tell he makes an effort to blend in with humans.
Ligur looks like he's about to hunt whale. Hastur looks like a really decrepit nosferatu. Lol! I adore the patch on his elbow. These are details that Colleen is just so great with. I'm always so impressed with her art. Have you read Chivalry? I pull it off the shelf every couple of months to marvel at the beauty of it.
I had the good fortune to see several pages of the original art from Chivalry which was on display at The Cartoon Art Museum in San Francisco a few years ago. As wonderful as it is on the printed page it is even more so in person!
Thanks for that, I really appreciate it. While I sympathize with everyone who has had to wait some months longer than they though they would, I had no idea how long recovery would take, and no realistic idea of the long term effects of the pressure I was under. So, excuse me for cracking a bit. I actually asked my doctor if we could delay treatment for six months. I was that focused on getting this book out.
Also, I don't think the average schmoe understands how this sort of thing hard core affects your cognition. No fine motor control, no spatial reasoning. That means...you can't draw.
Well, I understand that people are upset. But when they assert that the Kickstarter was years ago? No, it wasn't. It wasn't even supposed to ship until this summer. It's now December. When the book does ship, it will still be months late, not years. No one will be happier than I will be when it's out.
Honestly, more of us care more about your wellbeing than about the book itself. It's partly what makes the GO community such a wonderful fandom to participate in. There's always going to be a few vocal, entitled folks in any community. But most of us are fine with waiting as long as you take care of yourself.
As excited as I am about the book and your amazing art, none of it is worth risking your health just to meet a deadline. You're a treasure, and you're far more important than a material object, however awesome it is. You're one of us, and we care. ❤️

And they are clearly several hundred years behind in fashion as well.

Oh my goodness, thank you for writing that!
You're very welcome, though it's simply the truth. 🥰

THANK YOU!!!
"Boo Hoo" all you want. Real pain is no joke. Meanwhile you're such an amazing talent. Thank you for an abundance of inspiration.

At my age, everything takes longer...
I'm feeling like if this had happened twenty years ago, I'd have recovered a hellofa lot faster...so yeah. I still don't have all my energy back.

I have to remind myself to do something that makes me happy BEFORE I sit down to write & draw. It can only help.
People are cranky and entitled. Your work is amazing. Did I mention people are cranky and entitled?
