I'm glad you are taking care of yourself by getting the deadline extension, and that past you was wise enough to work with such wonderful people on this project. As a cancer survivor, I know first hand that recovery takes as long as it takes (just like art). I love your work and the care you take for other artists by sharing so much of your life and experience with us beyond al the art your create!
What everyone else wrote is spot on. Take care of your health, both body and soul, first. Everything else comes after. And three cheers for everyone, from Neil Gaiman to the Pratchett estate to the readers, for supporting you and knowing you are far more important than any book, even this marvelous one.
Honestly, I care a lot more about your wellbeing than about the book. I can live without the book, if it comes down to it. But you're irreplaceable. I'm more than happy to wait, and I'm sure most others would agree.
I'm beginning to suspect that by the time the book is in our hands, I will have run through every possible manifestation of praise -- for you, for Neil, for the Estate, for anyone and everyone involved in the project! Ah, who cares about the limits of my writing skills?!
Super special people who commissioned a super special project from a super special artist and adapter are all just really really super special humans! (Or are they actually angelic beings who just sort of sauntered downward into humanity? <3 )
I am so glad you are getting the support you need. A healthy and stable Colleen Doran is incontestably more important than a book on any arbitrary schedule. Kudos to Rob and Neil for backing you, but most importantly: Good on you for getting this far.
Two things make me glad: 1) an artist I respect is on her way to recovery and creating new things, and 2) other artists and art-adjacent folks (Neil and the Pratchett estate) are supportive and understanding. It makes me feel good about loving this story and the creators involved with the various tellings.
YOU take care of yourself! No artist, no art!! I'm delighted to support such a humane project and to help such a talented writer and artist.
That's very kind, thank you.
Half the reason that I pledged was Colleen Doran art. And I’ll wait as long as it takes. Keep getting better!

💚 We can wait. Your health is more important. Please grow strong and get better. The book will come when it is ready.
This is very good. I'm glad everyone putting this out is humane and sane. Please take care, Colleen.

Take your time - you are the most important thing here.
You are amazing. Thank you for being such an inspiration for me and all of us. I wish I could tell you what your bravery means to me! Thank you! 😊
Sorry you had a rough '23. Take your time, get well!
Rest up and get better! ❤️🩹
