Back in the day, way....back in the day, fan artists used to do art for fanzine and instead of money would get a comp issue, it was a way of getting their art out there and the comics publishers treated it as free publicity.
The question is is it not alright ethically for fan artists to do fan art for amateur publication or would that be on the amateur publisher?
