THE ROCKETEER!
Darn, I almost nabbed him.
Some of you may remember this charming film starring Bill Campbell as The Rocketeer, based on the Dave Stevens comic.
This is one of my favorite comic book adaptations, and now that it’s available in bluray, I’ll have to get it.
As it happens, Bill Campbell lived in a nearby city, and used to frequent a comic shop there. I think it’s now out of business.
The owner, Scott, told me all about Bill Campbell’s visits. I joked that the next time I came in, they should grab him, hold him and keep him for me.
Ha.
It was some time before I went back to the shop. When I did come back, this note from Bill Campbell was waiting for me.
Darn, I missed my chance.
Another very important reason to make sure you get to your comic shop to check out new releases every Wednesday.
The Complete Adventures Deluxe Edition is delightful.
I remembered reading the dark horse issues and went on to track down the pacific comics issues. They were awesome and because nobody collects them, the retailer still had them in NM condition. They’re just lovely. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼🤭👍🏼☕️
I love that movie. It’s held up really well.
