You have the right to seek peace and quiet.
You have the right to turn off the news.
You have the right to turn off the internet.
Peace in the Middle East will not be achieved by you staring at RT's on twitter all day.
You have the right to distance yourself from people who make you feel like crap.
You have the right to distance yourself from people who just get on your nerves for awhile.
You have the right to look at LOLCats because they make you smile.
You have the right to get involved when you think you can make a difference.
You have the right to stay uninvolved when you think you have nothing of value to offer.
You have the right to stay uninvolved even when you do have something to offer, but for now, your energies are better spent elsewhere.
Your life is the ultimate zero sum game.
It will end.
You have the right to choose what to do with it.
You have the privilege of living in a time and place that gives you an array of choice.
Choose wisely.
Choose happiness.
Some people never get the chance.
Live.
Someone elsewhere actually smeared this post as a racist viewpoint. I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest people all over the world have the right - as well as the need- to enforce boundaries. But if you want to believe otherwise, I'll just enforce my boundaries by, you know, walking away from you.
Amen!
